The Manitowoc IYT-0450A-161/D-400 Indigo NXT™ ice maker with compartment can produce 490 lbs ice and hold 365 lbs. It comes with a 5.3-pound-capacity ice scoop with a built-in hand guard to prevent contact with ice. A holder prevents the scoop from having to be stored in the ice, reducing the risk of contamination. The compartment door has side grips for easy lifting and a latch to keep it open while scooping. Foam insulation is used in the door to retain cold air and prevent ice from melting quickly. Ice production can be set by time of day or volume in the compartment. Before ice can drop into the compartment, an acoustical probe in the head checks its thickness. Major components are built with AlphaSan® technology to prevent scale buildup between cleanings. Using the ice machine head is simple with touch icons and daily diagnostics.
